How to join or volunteer with the California Cadet Corps

Volunteers:

  • Understand and Comply with Code of Ethics and Cadet Protection Policies
  • Be approved/vetted in accordance with local school and district volunteer policies (if applicable)
  • Act under direct supervision of Commandants

Assistant Commandants, Special Projects Officers (HQ and Brigade levels):

  • Understand and Comply with Code of Ethics and Cadet Protection Policies (if applicable)
  • Be approved/vetted in accordance with local school and district volunteer policies
  • Application Packet (except for the Form 11) must be submitted, approved, and orders published establishing position in CACC

Commandants:

  • Understand and Comply with Code of Ethics and Cadet Protection Policies
  • Be approved/vetted in accordance with local school and district volunteer policies (if applicable)
  • Application Packet must be submitted, approved, and orders published establishing position in CACC
  • Attend Basic Commandant Training Academy

Checklist:

  • Review CACC Commandant Code of Ethics
  • Review CACC Cadet Protection Policy
  • Complete School/District Policies (Livescan, TB tests, etc)

How to submit completed forms:

We now request that all application packets be submitted to:

  • Before submitting, please reference CACC Form 2 which will serve as a checklist of required documents.
  • Ensure that packets are complete before submission.
  • Packets will be processed in the order received by Human Resources.
  • If items are missing, such as signatures, dates, transcripts/diplomas, completed Live Scan Request, or proof of TB, this will delay the process.
  • An email for completion will be sent to applicants for follow-up.


NOTICE - Once your packet is submitted, there is usually a wait time between when the packet is submitted, when the DOJ/FBI completes their background check, and when you complete PAC training. All 3 of those processes must be completed in order for our PUAC Committee to take action on your packet.
