STARBASE
STARBASE
The STARBASE Unit introduces incoming 5th and 6th-graders to STEAM concepts through hands-on activities focused on space exploration. This program builds foundational skills in science, technology, engineering, arts and architecture, and mathematics while fostering curiosity and problem-solving abilities. Participants will engage in interactive lessons and real-world applications, including learning planetary coordinate systems (latitude/longitude and GPS), applying math to solve practical challenges, programming rovers, and exploring computer-aided design (CAD) and 3D printing. Training emphasizes STEAM concepts and integrates communication, teamwork, and project management skills. The STARBASE Unit is part of the Space Pathway Integration (SPI) training;Â successful completion will prepare cadets for future opportunities in aerospace and STEAM fields.
