Overview
The Firefighting Unit is a physically demanding unit designed to expose cadets who are high school junior/seniors that are age 16 or older to the various opportunities in the fire service. Cadets will be exposed to wildland & structure fire operations, hazardous materials awareness, incident command principals, fire station and air attack base tours, and participate in timed, qualifying drills that will result in certification in various National Wildland Coordination Group (NWCG) qualifications, CAL FIRE Fire Fighter Certifications, and successful cadets who complete all testing and drills will be eligible for potential employment as a Fire Fighter I - Hand Crew with CAL FIRE upon graduation from high school. All cadets must be in excellent physical condition, willing to participate in arduous & challenging physical situations, and long training days.

3. Cadets wishing to participate in this unit will need to submit the completed courses NLT 15 JUN 2026.
4. Cadets wishing to participate will also be required to complete a modified Candidate Physical Abilities Test at the start of Advanced Camp.
